Manikandan. M is currently a successful finance professional in the banking sector. When his educational future was a big question after his 9th standard, Tinkle Sevaa stepped in and helped him to complete his formal education and graduation. “With the help of the sponsors and donors associated with I am now in this respectable position. I dont think any of this would have been possible without Tinkle Sevaa and Prof Suresh, from Tinkle”.
Manikandan, now working as the Financial Head of Tinkle Sevaa is also helping to run a successful after school activity centre in Pannimadai, Coimbatore. Around 65 students, predominant girls attend the after school activity on weekday evening and on weekends too. “We specifically choose girl children from poor family backgrounds and help with educational and nutrition to help them lead a better life tomorrow” says Manikandan.
The children arrive at the centre soon after school. There are appointed teachers to help them in their studies.
Not only studies they are also taught discipline, value based lessons and curriculum specially designed by Tinkle for their skill development.
The activity centre at Pannimadai has two classrooms and a computer lab for student’s benefit. They are given utmost care right from providing healthy evening snacks to celebrating birthdays with cutting of cake and are given informational sessions by volunteers on self improvement.
They also conduct a yearly activity called “Mannvasanai” to revive the traditions of the village by conducting yester year games and practices. There are many donors who contribute for the welfare of the children. Some have also adopted children to meet their educational expenses and Manikandan is also one of them with one adopted child. “I wish to extend the support I got from Tinkle to many such children like me. I want to be a part in changing their lives like how mine was changed beyond my dreams”.
