Prozone Open, one of the most awaited mega sports event and one of the firsts in the city was conducted with huge success from April 12th to April 14th. The mega sporting event had 8 sporting events conducted across 4 different venues in the city.
The events were organised by PACE events. The event which was co-sponsored by Vardhaman Textiles, Mahavir Laminates, Drunken Monkey and Sri Sakthi Engineering college hosted about 8 sports event which includes chess, cycling, carrom, bowling, box cricket, football, badminton and roller skating.
Prozone is the largest mall in Coimbatore with an exciting array of all kinds of brands from International bigwigs to popular local brands. With the largest parking space and pleasing greenery the mall is increasingly popular among the Coimbatoreans for their shopping and entertainment. The 9 movie screens multiplex is the largest in Coimbatore and one among the largest in the state.
The mega sporting event by the state-of-art shopping mall was organised by PACE events one of the famous event organisers in the city was inaugurated by Deepan , Vice Chairman of Sree Sakthi International school and Ravi Chandran, District Sports Officer on 12th April. The Prozone Open saw around 2000 participants across eight sporting events. The sportsmen and their families who gathered to cheer the participants across all four venues was immense.
With exciting prizes to giveaway, all the participants received their participation certificates and cash prizes and trophies were sponsored by sponsored by INOX, Annapoorna, Smily Kiddos, Skechers and Fun Unlimited.
The valedictory ceremony was held at the Main Atrium in the Prozone Mall on April 14th. The chief guest of the prize distribution was Anusha Ravi, MD of Park Institutions and the chief guest was Srinivasan, Secretary of Kovai Athletic Club.
Praveen Methil, Centre Director, Prozone Coimbatore said, “Our first edition of Prozone Open was a grand success with energetic participants and their enthusiastic family who were present to encourage them. This is the first time ever that a mall has taken an initiative to conduct a sporting event. Owing to the resounding success this year, we plan to make the second bigger and better.”
