‘Everybody likes a compliment’ is a motivational quote from US former President Abraham Lincoln. Yes, the accolades from City Police Commissioner Sumit Sharan has made social media cell head constable Rakki Mahesh alias C Maheswaran on cloud nine for his creation of a video song on traffic awareness recently.
The CoP while complimenting Rakki Mahesh for his short films on social issues released the video CD. DCP, Law&Order L Balaji Saravanan and DCP, Traffic Sujith Kumar were present on the occasion. And the video song titled ‘Mathikkanum…Mathikkanum’ focused on traffic awareness by motorists. It may be noted that Maheswaran was Ramanathapuram police station writer when this scribe spotted his short story writing talent to be featured in The New Indian Express in 2008. No looking back for him as he continued to pen short stores besides venturing into short film making on social themes to create awareness among the public more so the motorists. To his credit, he has seven short films and three songs.
“This wouldn’t have been possible but for the encouragement from former City Police Commissioners A K Viswanathan, Dr Amalraj and Dr K Periaiah besides DCPs Nagarajan and Rajasekaran,” he said in a touch of pride. And Maheshwaran hailing from Vellalagundam village in Salem district is armed with MA in police administration and earned a title for his 21 days cycle expedition alongwith three others from his hometown Salem to New Delhi organised under the aegis of Union Human Resource Ministry on the theme of National Integration. And this fetched him a job in police department in 1994.
Rakki said that the video song on traffic awareness wouldn’t have been possible but for the support of Ganesh Aravind who scored the music and assisted by Manojkumar, Sundararaj, Design Kannan, Flex Mathew and Radhakrishnan in the making of the CD.
