Small screen viewers wouldn’t have missed Pavithra character donned by Sruthi Shanmugha Priya in ‘Vani Rani’ serial on telecast on a prime time chunk (9.30pm). Indeed, she is a pride of Coimbatore in making a mark in one of longest serials in Sun TV with a whopping 1743 episodes.
And curtains came down on Saturday night with the serial Vani Rani (Radhika Sarathkumar in dual role) ending on a happy note with the Vani and Rani’s family reuniting after several twists and turns. It’s celebration all the way for the cast and crew of the serial which kept the viewers glued to the television sets for nearly 5 years, 10 months and 15 days.
Sruthi even while pursuing her Masters in International Business (MIB) was shuttling between Coimbatore and Chennai for Vani Rani shoot. And she won the hearts of the serial viewers for her acting prowess. Interestingly, she donned the role of daughter in law of Rani (Radhika Sarathkumar) and Saminathan (Prithviraj alias Babloo). While sharing her experience working in Vani Rani, Sruthi said that it was a blessing for her to work with Radhika mam besides her co-artistes and scores of technicians behind the screen.
Not many are aware of the fact that Sruthi got a break in director Thirumurugan’s ‘Nadaswaram’ serial (which entered Guinness book of record for longest continuous television shoot telecast live from the spot) wherein she showed her acting prowess right from first episode to the last (1356). Since then no looking back for this talented girl, who seized the opportunity that knocked at her. Armed with MCA, MIB, Sruthi now works at Hindusthan College of Arts and Science as a lead in corporate relations. And she is an alma mater of Hindusthan institutions. With supportive parents, Sruthi yearns to make it big in her chosen domain. Sruthi is a resident of Gandhipuram neighbourhood in the city.
