Thirunangaigal, who carved a niche as biriyani masters in Coimbatore city, have now ventured into hotel biz aptly naming it as ‘Covai Trans Kitchen’ at Venkatasamy Road, RS Puram neighbourhood opposite to Chinthamani super market.
According to Coimbatore Mavatta Thirunangaigal Nala Sangam president Sangeetha, the hotel engages ten of their members in this venture. Thanks to United Way, Swasti Health Catalyst, CSI Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science were behind this mega exercise. NABARD District Manager C Thirumalai Rao lighted the traditional lamp to mark the inauguration alongwith CSI All Souls Church Rev Charles N Samraj, Central Cooperative Bank special officer Indumathi at the opening of the restaurant. Meanwhile, Priya Babu, Swati Regional Impact officer at Swasti Health Catalyst said that this hotel is opened to enhance their livelihood and this would be similar to other restaurants.
She said that the hotel will function from noon to night offering lip-smacking Dum biryani besides fish curry varieties for lunch and paratha and dosa in the evening hours. Based on the patronage from Kovaiites, Sangeetha said that they would think of expanding it to other areas. She expressed hope that they would go the extra mile in their new venture.
