MCom Grad David Raja’s Novel Concept

Getting fed up working in corporate culture, two youngsters David Raja and Manimaran conceived the idea of starting their own venture. And they aptly christened their entity as ‘Kovai Delivery Boys’-Anything, Anytime, Anywhere. With online business becoming assuming significance in most part of the metros, the duo decided to deliver anything from A to Z to Coimbatore residents.
Narrating his story to Kovai Metro, David Raja, a PG in commerce said, “We were distressed working in corporates and it became a stress to us. It was a boredom working in such a culture losing our identity and integrity. It definitely didn’t gave us job satisfaction as it was like a machine life,” David said that he alongwith his friend Manimaran, who worked in Nalas Appa Kadai delivering food items pulled out from it to start their venture on their own to deliver anything, anywhere and anytime.
He went on to say that he launched this entity four years ago and it took two years to get identified by Coimbatoreans. As of now, they have 40 members on their list, who toil from day and night delivering any item to customers. Just name it, we will have it delivered at your doorsteps’ is the buzzword for vibrant youngsters, who strive hard to earn a name for them. Customers satisfaction is their sole objective. Not just food items, they deliver medicines, groceries, vegetables, utensils and what not.
Further, he said that they have 25 full time volunteers on their roll and another 10 or 15 join them during Sundays to work on part time. Work is worship for the youngsters, who crave to make a career evenwhile serving the residents more so the elderly people, who are mostly confined to oldage homes in far-flung areas.
On their service charge, David said that they charge Rs.10 per kilometre for delivering the items at the doorsteps and nothing extra. A major chunk of the Kovai Delivery Boys team are under graduates. Lack of proper placement drove them to work independently in a team. And they have an office located at Ram Nagar neighbourhood in the city. They are also planning to launch their App for the convenience of Kovaiites since they now get orders thru’ cellphone calls.
